Car Rentals Are Familiar — But What About Yacht Rentals? Here’s What You Need to Know
If you’ve traveled abroad, chances are you’ve rented a car more than once — you know the drill. But when it comes to yacht rentals, things may seem a bit less clear. Do you need a special license? Do you plan everything yourself — from food to fuel?
Let’s break it down.
There are two main types of yacht (or catamaran) bookings:
1. “I’m the Captain!”
This is the bareboat charter option — very popular along the Aegean coast (Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Göcek).
Here’s how it works:
You sail the yacht yourself (you’ll need a valid sailing license and to sign some paperwork).
You’re responsible for refueling during the trip.
You manage marina bookings and moorings.
You plan your own route, buy groceries, and cook onboard.
This option is perfect for experienced sailors who love planning every detail of their sea adventure.
2. “I’m the Guest!”
This is the most common and convenient option — especially popular along the Antalya coast (Antalya, Alanya, Kemer).
It’s a fully organized experience where everything is included:
A pre-planned route through the most beautiful bays and coastal spots.
A licensed, experienced captain.
A crew member or deckhand who takes care of logistics — you just relax and enjoy.
Fuel and mooring fees (when applicable).
A freshly prepared meal (lunch or dinner), drinks included.
Everything listed above is included in the fixed price you see on our website or receive from our manager. No surprises.
